logo-brand-horizAt the Star Tribune, I write about the north metro, digging into topics, trends and profiles from a collection of 20+ cities. Here’s my staff page. As an intern, I covered metro news, including cops, courts, city hall and general assignment stories. I’ve also contributed to our newsroom’s ongoing Philando Castile coverage.

Tulsa World logoI spent a summer working as a general assignment reporter at Tulsa World. I wrote more than 50 bylines for the paper’s city desk and contributed to the news, business and scene (arts/lifestyle) sections. Twelve of these stories ran front page.

Oracle logoAs editor-in-chief of the Oracle, Oral Roberts University’s student publication, I oversaw the production of the school’s non-daily newspaper. I worked with writers, photographers and designers while also contributing stories in most of the 20+ page issues. During my tenure as EIC, the publication earned the distinction of best non-daily student newspaper in our region from the Society of Professional Journalists.

oklahoman-image1I interned during the summer of 2013 at The Oklahoman, the state’s largest daily paper. My internship began in a storm frenzy. I arrived days after the Moore tornado. I covered breaking news/crime while also carving out a beat for myself by reporting extensively on the city’s booming Hispanic population. My stories on Hispanic health, education and faith in Oklahoma City were selected by the Society of Professional Journalists as the national Mark of Excellence winner for General Reporting.
